Abstract: A METHOD AND COMPOSITION FOR TETRACYCLINE-LOADED MAGNESIUM–ALUMINIUM LAYERED DOUBLE HYDROXIDES FOR SUSTAINED DRUG DELIVERY The present invention relates to a method and composition for a nanocomposite-based drug delivery system configured to provide sustained and prolonged release of an antibiotic. The system addresses limitations of conventional antibiotic formulations, including rapid drug release, short therapeutic duration, and frequent dosing, by incorporating the antibiotic within a layered nanostructured inorganic carrier. The method comprises synthesizing the nanocomposite through a controlled precipitation process, loading the antibiotic within the nanocomposite matrix, and evaluating physicochemical characteristics, biocompatibility, and release behavior. The resulting drug delivery system exhibits high drug-loading efficiency, sustained release over an extended period, and preserved antibacterial activity, thereby reducing dosing frequency and improving therapeutic effectiveness. The disclosed method and composition provide an improved and reliable approach for sustained antibiotic delivery compared to conventional formulations. (FIG. 1)
