Abstract: The present invention discloses a BioChronicle Hydrogel Polymer Composite (100) for passive physiological event recording in a subject. The method comprises combining Polyethylene Glycol Diacrylate (PEGDA), Gelatin Methacryloyl (GELMA), and Hyaluronic Acid Methacrylate (HAMA) followed by crosslinking via primary photopolymerization and secondary dynamic crosslinks to obtain the BioChronicle Hydrogel Polymer Composite (100), implanting the obtained BioChronicle Hydrogel Polymer composite (100) under the skin at a target site and retrieving after a predetermined recording period, sectioning the retrieved BioChronicle Hydrogel Polymer composite (100) and measuring permanently encoded physicochemical event signatures within each layer of the Recording Layer Array (107) identified by the Layer Identification Markers (109), and generating a BioChronicle Timeline Map by assigning measured event signatures to corresponding chronological time windows thereby reconstructing the physiological history of the subject.
