Abstract: A method (200) for measuring the sound speed in a fluid product contained in a pipe (2), the method (200) comprising a main cycle which in turn comprises at least the following steps which are cyclically executed at least once: - emitting a plurality of ultrasonic signals (201) towards the fluid product by a plurality of emitting points (21) located along the pipe (2); - receiving the plurality of ultrasonic signals (202) by a plurality of receiving points (22) located along the pipe (2); - measuring a time of flight (207) for a selected group of ultrasonic signals received at the receiving points (22) and calculating a sound speed value (208); - at the end of the main cycle, computing an average sound speed (209).
