Abstract: An IoT-based system (100) for predictive control of indoor air quality comprises a sensor module (150) including a CO2 sensor (152) and a temperature-humidity sensor (154), at least one processor (130), a memory (140), a ventilation actuator (110) comprising an exhaust mechanism (112), and a display (120). The memory (140) stores instructions that cause the processor (130) to receive CO2 concentration data, ambient temperature data, and relative humidity data from the sensor module (150), generate compensated CO2 concentration values by applying temperature-humidity compensation and signal filtering, execute a machine learning model to generate a predicted CO2 concentration value over a future time horizon based on historical CO2 concentration patterns, occupancy behaviour, and temporal usage profiles, and dynamically generate an upper CO2 threshold and a lower CO2 restoration threshold. The exhaust mechanism (112) is activated when the predicted CO2 trajectory is determined to exceed the upper CO2 threshold and is deactivated when the predicted CO2 trajectory falls to the lower CO2 restoration threshold.
