Abstract: ABSTRACT “A METHOD AND A SYSTEM FOR DETECTING OBSTACLES FOR A VEHICLE IN ASSEMBLY LINE ENVIRONMENT” Disclosed herein is method and system for detecting obstacles for vehicle body in an assembly line environment. The method comprises receiving, from a first imaging device, three-5 dimensional (3D) point cloud data of the assembly line environment and receiving 3D depth data and two-dimensional (2D) image data of the assembly line environment from a second imaging device. The method comprises synchronizing the 3D point cloud data, the 3D depth data and 2D image data by aligning time stamps of the first imaging device and the second imaging device, respectively and generating a 3D model of the assembly line environment using 10 the synchronized data. The method comprises integrating a virtual vehicle body within the 3D model and detecting obstacles for the vehicle body based on one or more collision points identified between the virtual vehicle body and the 3D model when the virtual vehicle body moves within the 3D model.
