The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: A method, system and a device for water quality assessment are disclosed. A sample handling unit receives water samples into two streams. The first stream is analyzed for microplastics using sodium chloride flotation, filtration, and near-infrared spectroscopy (900– 1700 nm), with a machine learning model classifying polymer type and concentration. The second stream undergoes microbiological screening using a hydrogen sulfide detection vial, followed by loop-mediated isothermal amplification on a heated paper strip for pathogen confirmation. A sensor array measures physicochemical parameters including pH, turbidity, and total dissolved solids. A processing unit integrates all results against safety thresholds, including zero Escherichia coli per 100 mL, and provides a final water quality output via a status indicator.
