Abstract: ABSTRACT A Method, System and Device for Real-Time Crowd Monitoring, Prediction and Alert Escalation in Monitored Areas The present invention concerns a system and process for crowd monitoring and proactively preventing crowds from getting too large in the area under consideration. The system includes entry and exits sensors which sense and count people, and a control device that calculates the present load of people in the system by determining the difference between the numbers who enter and leave. Additionally, the control device calculates the rate of change in the crowd load, as well as the estimated time until a predetermined crowd threshold is met. Abnormal surges of crowd load are detected via a surge detector, while alerts are generated according to various stages of crowd growth. Fig. 3
