MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641103829 A) filed by Chennai Institute Of Technology on August 28, 2026, for A Metal-Organic Framework-Derived Hybrid Nanocomposite Positive Electrode For An Asymmetric Supercapacitor..
Inventors include Dr. S. Munusamy; Dr. J. Vinoth Kumar; and K. Ragul Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: A hierarchical hybrid nanocomposite electrode material and an asymmetric supercapacitor assembly (11) are provided. The material comprises a porous cobalt metal organic framework core (1), a nickel cobalt layered double hydroxide nanosheet layer (2), a spinel nickel cobalt oxide nanoparticle phase (3), and a reduced graphene 10 oxide conductive network (4). The components are coated via a slurry coating layer (5) onto a conductive metallic current collector (6) to form a positive working electrode (7). The positive working electrode (7) is assembled with a negative carbon counter electrode (8), an aqueous alkaline electrolyte (9), and a porous separator membrane (10) to construct the asymmetric supercapacitor assembly. (11). The porous cobalt 15 metal organic framework core (1) and reduced graphene oxide conductive network (4) establish rapid electron and ion transfer pathways while suppressing agglomeration. The nickel cobalt layered double hydroxide nanosheet layer (2) and spinel nickel cobalt oxide nanoparticle phase (3) provide rich Faradaic redox sites for enhanced pseudocapacitance. The asymmetric supercapacitor assembly (11) exhibits high 20 energy density, high rate capability, and superior cycling life.
