Abstract: ABSTRACT A MATERIAL PROCESSING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR THERMAL PROCESSING OF MATERIALS The present disclosure relates to a material processing apparatus (100) and a method (200) for thermal processing of materials. The material processing apparatus (100) comprises a processing chamber (102) configured to receive materials, and a field plate (104) formed of a conductive material and positioned within the processing chamber (102) to support the materials. A thermal source (108) is positioned beneath the field plate (104) and is configured to generate a fluctuating magnetic field upon application of an alternating current. The fluctuating magnetic field induces currents in the field plate (104) to generate heat through electrical resistance, thereby facilitating thermal processing of the materials. A positioning mechanism (106) is coupled to the thermal source (108) and is configured to adjust at least one of a distance and an orientation of the thermal source relative to the field plate (104) to control heating intensity and provide uniform heating.
