MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611100426 A) filed by Sharda University on August 19, 2026, for A Machine Learning Based Clinical Decision Support System For Snakebite Envenomation Management.
Inventors include Dr. Sreejith S.; Dr. Deepthi P. S.; Dr. Rajneesh Kumar Singh; and Mr. P. Rajakumar.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: The present invention provides a machine learning based clinical decision support system (100) for snakebite envenomation management. The system comprises a data acquisition module (101), preprocessing module (102), feature engineering module (103), machine learning prediction module (104), explainable artificial intelligence module (105), risk assessment module (106), and clinical decision support module (107). The data acquisition module (101) is integrated to acquire patient-related information including symptoms, clinical observations, laboratory parameters, temporal progression, and geographical information is processed to generate an envenomation risk score. The explainable artificial intelligence module (105) identifies significant clinical factors contributing to the prediction, thereby improving transparency of the recommendation. Based on the risk assessment generated, the system provides recommendations including observation, further evaluation, antivenom administration, intensive care management, or referral. The system is deployable through standalone, mobile, web-based, or hospital-integrated platforms and is particularly suitable for resource-constrained healthcare environments.
