Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a lyophilized mouth-dissolving tablet composition (100) of sumatriptan succinate for migraine management. The composition comprises sumatriptan succinate as an active pharmaceutical ingredient, Eudragit EPO as a taste-masking polymer, at least one matrix-forming agent selected from PVP K-90, Cryogel and Instagel, and pharmaceutically acceptable excipients comprising mannitol, a sweetener, a preservative and a flavouring agent. The sumatriptan succinate is taste-masked using Eudragit EPO and the composition is prepared by a lyophilization process. The resulting tablet is configured to rapidly disintegrate in the oral cavity in the presence of saliva, thereby enabling administration without water. In an exemplary formulation containing about 1% Instagel, the tablet exhibits disintegration within 60 seconds and more than 90% in-vitro drug release within 10 minutes.
