MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631084222 A) filed by Dr Sushanta Ghosh; Dr Bipin Kumar Sharma; and Dr Surajit De Mandal on July 09, 2026, for A Low-Cost High Efficiency User Friendly Production Method Based On Maximum Surface Minimum Media (ms-Mm) Composition For Trichoderma Species At Farm Level/Company Level..

Inventors include Dr Sushanta Ghosh; Dr Bipin Kumar Sharma; and Dr Surajit De Mandal.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel method of producing a large amount of liquid based Trichoderma spores and mycelia using very low cost media composition and with the help of wide stainless-steel dishes or in food graded plastic dishes in an efficient way so that an ordinary farmer or any person also easily can do it at the farm level. Trichoderma is produced under submerged conditions using boiled potato water supplemented with lemon and sugar juice. The method achieved very high yields of spores and greater biomass cultivation efficiency. The invention's technical scheme allows for the production of up to 6.2× 10¹² cfu/ml substrate of Trichoderma conidia, and the sporulation yield is 100 times higher than that of the previous method, thereby improving yield and reducing costs. The process reduces substrate consumption, enables efficient fungal colonization, simplifies harvesting, improves space utilization, and provides a cultivation support system suitable for an ordinary farmer or laboratories, and pilot-scale industrial applications.
