Abstract: In modern educational institutions, efficient transportation management has become an essential requirement to ensure smooth and reliable commuting for students. Managing bus routes, schedules, and availability using traditional methods often leads to inefficiencies, delays, and confusion among users. This project presents the design and development of a Bus Route Finder System, a web-based application that enables students to easily search for bus routes, view detailed route information, and access real-time availability through a centralized digital platform. Conventional transportation systems largely depend on printed schedules, notice boards, and manual inquiries, which are time-consuming, prone to errors, and lack real-time updates, causing difficulties for students in identifying correct routes during schedule changes or delays. To overcome these limitations, the proposed system leverages modern web technologies to provide a dynamic and user-friendly solution that enhances accessibility and efficiency. The system allows students to search for buses based on their source and destination, view complete route details including stops and estimated timings, and visualize routes using map-based integration, thereby improving navigation and clarity. It also supports real-time updates, where drivers can update the availability and status of buses, ensuring users receive accurate and up-to-date information. Additionally, the system includes a centralized administrative module that enables administrators to manage buses, routes, and driver information efficiently, reducing manual effort and improving coordination. The application incorporates secure authentication mechanisms and role-based access control to ensure data protection and authorized access. It is designed with a responsive interface that supports multiple devices and uses efficient database management for fast and reliable data processing. Performance evaluation indicates improved efficiency, reduced waiting time, and enhanced user experience. Furthermore, the system’s scalable architecture allows future enhancements such as real-time tracking, automated notifications, and predictive arrival times, making the Bus Route Finder System a reliable, efficient, and modern solution for transportation management in educational institutions.
