MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621093524 A) filed by Novaqua Technologies Pvt. Ltd. on August 01, 2026, for A Liquid Absorbent Based Atmospheric Water Generation System And Method With Vacuum Assisted Regeneration.
Inventors include Jalan, Akshat; and Jalan, Roli.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a liquid absorbent based atmospheric water generation (AWG) system and method for atmospheric water recovery, air dehumidification, and thermal conditioning. The system comprises one or more absorbers configured to contact ambient humid air with one or more liquid absorbents for moisture absorption, one or more regenerators operating under reduced pressure or vacuum conditions for regeneration of moisture rich absorbent, one or more condensers configured to condense desorbed water vapour into recoverable water, one or more heat exchangers for thermal recovery, and one or more adiabatic cooling systems configured to cool process streams. The system incorporates staged regeneration, pressure cascade regeneration, and adiabatic cooling for improving thermodynamic efficiency. Heating and cooling may be supplied through low grade thermal energy sources, heat pumps, or direct refrigerant thermal exchange. (Figure 1)
