Abstract: The present invention relates to a lightweight Autonomous Robotic system for integrated whole stalk sugarcane harvesting including cutting, De-trashing, and Bundling Mechanism in a single autonomous pass within a compact form factor. The compact autonomous sugarcane harvester is built on electric/ hybrid power train architecture with a rechargeable battery and electric motors. The bot navigates itself using camera, 2D LIDAR sensors, laser and photo-diode sensors in a sugarcane field for obstacle avoidance, path planning, and crop row following without human intervention. The automatic harvester is equipped with centralised microcontroller and/or processor that controls all the functions operating for sequential harvesting of sugarcane. The present invention relates to a sophisticated autonomous sugarcane harvester that increases fuel efficacy, reduces operational noise, reduces emissions at the point of use, designed with simpler mechanical architecture with fewer moving parts, elimination of human intervention, increasing logistical efficacy, the use of standardized mass-produced parts for cost efficiency, easy repairability, easy maintenance and navigation in narrow and uneven fields with differential drive mechanism.
