Of India; Foundation For Science, Innovation And Development; and Kirloskar Pneumatic Company Limited on March 07, 2025, for A Journal Bearing Of A Water Injected Screw Compressor.

Abstract: Present disclosure discloses a journal bearing (10) of a water injected screw compressor (100). The journal bearing (10) includes a housing (2) and a cylindrical liner (4) removably 5 accommodated within the housing (2). The cylindrical liner (4) is manufactured from a first material. The journal bearing (10) further includes a cylindrical bush (6) receivable within cylindrical liner (4). The cylindrical bush (6) is manufactured from a second material. The cylindrical bush (6) receives a shaft (50, 52, 54, 56, 58) of the water injected screw compressor (100), and the cylindrical bush (6) is structured to rotate within cylindrical liner (4) along 10 rotation of the shaft. During operation of water injected screw compressor (100), the cylindrical bush (6) contacts the cylindrical liner (4), thereby mitigating contact of cylindrical bush (6) with housing (2), causing the cylindrical liner (4) to wear due to friction, thereby reducing wear of the cylindrical bush (6). 15 Figure 4 is a representative figure.
