MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511089352 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi on September 19, 2025, for A Hydrogel-Based Nanocatalytic Formulation.

Inventors include Sudip Mukherjee; Pragya Pallavi; and Snehasish Mandal.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a hydrogel-based nanocatalytic formulation. The hydrogel-based nanocatalytic formulation is in form of a pectin encapsulated hydrogel capsule or a 3D-bioprinted patch with a patterned architecture. The hydrogel-based nanocatalytic formulation is comprising of a polymeric base and a nano-cocktail of divalent metal oxides; that exhibits in-situ catalytic generation of therapeutic levels of oxygen for rapid wound-healing. The biocompatible hydrogel-based nanocatalytic formulation exhibis reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavenging potential and antioxidant properties under oxidative stress conditions.
