Abstract: The invention relates to biomimetic thermoregulatory interfaces for soft robotics, wearables, smart textiles, and wearable healthcare systems. Disclosed is an artificial bionic skin system comprising an agarose-based hydrogel formed as a skin-like layer, a temperature sensor in thermal communication with the hydrogel, and a microcontroller-based arrangement comprising an Arduino electrically connected to the sensor. The hydrogel is fabricated by a controlled methodology to provide structural stability, crosslinking properties, and water retention through a crosslinked, water-retentive internal network distributed throughout the hydrogel body, thereby moderating rapid heat transfer while maintaining dimensional integrity and hydration. Compared with conventional passive coverings, the system enables instantaneous monitoring and response-controlled temperature regulation under varying environmental conditions. In controlled thermal shock experiments over about 24 degrees Celsius to about 38 degrees Celsius, the Arduino-monitored temperature remained about 29 plus or minus 0.8 degrees Celsius.
