Abstract: The present invention relates to a hybrid rule-based and machine learning system and method for automated crop rotation recommendation for enhancing crop yield and soil fertility. The invention receives agricultural input data including soil parameters, climatic conditions, historical crop cultivation records, and crop nutrient requirement information associated with a target field. The received data is pre-processed and analyzed using a rule-based agronomic module and a machine learning prediction module. The rule-based agronomic module applies crop compatibility, nutrient restoration, pest avoidance, and seasonal suitability rules, while the machine learning prediction module predicts suitability of candidate crop sequences using historical agricultural data. Outputs from both modules are combined in a decision fusion layer to generate one or more ranked crop rotation recommendations. The system may be implemented using sensors, processors, communication interfaces, storage, and mobile or web-based user platforms. The invention enables field-specific, data-driven, and sustainable crop planning by improving nutrient balance, reducing repetitive cropping risks, and enhancing long-term agricultural productivity.
