MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611083215 A) filed by Chitkara University on July 07, 2026, for A Hybrid Network Intrusion Detection System.
Inventors include Ms. Nabanita Roy; and Dr. Raj Gaurang Tiwari.
The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a hybrid network intrusion detection system(100). The system includes a network interface controller(102), a computing unit(104), a programmable logic(110), and an interconnect bus(112). The network interface controller(102) receives network packets and transfers them to memory through direct memory access. The computing unit(104) includes a memory unit(106) and a processing unit(108), and performs flow aggregation, feature extraction, sequence encoding, classification, and alert generation. The programmable logic(110), implemented using a field-programmable gate array, executes a learnable temporal warping module to generate corrected packet timestamps using parameterized temporal warping function and a continuous-time latent representation module which refines encoded latent representations by integrating parameterized ordinary differential equation. The refined latent representation is classified to determine malicious network activity and generate intrusion alerts. Hardware acceleration of temporal processing and latent representation refinement enables improved detection accuracy, reduced inference latency, and efficient real-time network intrusion detection for high-speed communication networks.
