The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a hybrid machine learning–based framework for real-time phishing URL detection and classification in cybersecurity applications. The invention integrates lexical feature extraction, statistical URL analysis, and machine learning techniques to accurately identify phishing and legitimate web addresses. The proposed system combines TF-IDF–based textual feature representation, tokenization mechanisms, and structural URL characteristics such as URL length, special character frequency, domain attributes, HTTPS usage, and subdomain analysis to generate a comprehensive feature set for phishing detection. The framework employs feature fusion techniques to integrate lexical and structural information and utilizes an optimized machine learning classifier for efficient classification and decision-making. The invention further supports real-time deployment through a web-based interface, enabling users to analyze URLs and receive immediate phishing predictions. The proposed approach enhances detection accuracy, minimizes false positives and false negatives, improves generalization across diverse phishing patterns, and addresses limitations associated with conventional blacklist and rule-based systems. Experimental evaluation demonstrates superior performance in terms of accuracy, precision, recall, and scalability when compared with existing phishing detection approaches. The invention is applicable to cybersecurity systems, web security platforms, browser security extensions, enterprise network protection, financial transaction monitoring, cloud security infrastructures, and intelligent threat detection environments.
