Abstract: ABSTRACT [0013] A hybrid analytical system and method is disclosed for the forensic investigation of cryptocurrency transactions within a blockchain environment. Bitcoin transaction data is acquired in real time from blockchain sources and preprocessed into a structured form. The data is then represented as a directed graph in which wallet addresses form nodes and transactions form directed edges, thereby permitting detailed examination of relationships and fund movements. Structural features such as degree centrality, betweenness centrality, clustering coefficient and connectivity metrics are extracted from the graph, while behavioral features including transaction frequency, value patterns, temporal characteristics and inter-address interaction patterns are also computed. These structural and behavioral features are merged into a unified feature set that is supplied to a Random Forest classifier for categorizing wallets or transactions as normal or suspicious. Clustering of related addresses and continuous fund-flow tracking further support the identification of illicit activity. A web-based user interface allows investigators to submit wallet or transaction identifiers, visualize the resulting networks and obtain structured forensic reports. The framework improves the accuracy, scalability and operational efficiency of blockchain forensic analysis and finds application in financial security, fraud detection and cybercrime investigation.
