Abstract: ABSTRACT A HETEROGENEOUS CATALYST, METHOD OF PREPARATION, AND AMINOLYSIS OF POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE WASTE USING BIOMASS-DERIVED FURFURYLAMINE The present invention relates to a heterogeneous CeO2-MgO mixed metal oxide catalyst for aminolysis of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) using biomass-derived furfurylamine (FA). The catalyst exhibited good reusability over five cycles of the PET aminolysis reaction. The developed catalytic process was successfully extended to a range of mixed coloured PET plastics, emphasizing its potential as an industrially viable solution for advancing a sustainable plastic economy. The present invention also relates to a method for preparing the heterogeneous mixed metal oxide catalyst. Fig. 1
