Abstract: A Herbal Topical Spray Composition for Analgesic Management of Post-Operative Wounds Using Madhuca longifolia Flower Extract’’ The present invention relates to a herbal topical spray formulation for management of post-haemorrhoidectomy pain. More particularly, the invention discloses a Madhuca longifolia flower extract based spray prepared with pharmaceutically acceptable excipients and intended for local application over the operated ano-rectal area. The formulation is designed to provide convenient, uniform, and less contaminating application in post-operative care. The spray exhibits suitable topical physicochemical characteristics including brown colour, alcoholic odour, liquid consistency, good spreadability, and a pH around 5.7. Phytochemical profiling indicates the presence of phenolic, flavonoid, terpenoid, sterol, tannin, coumarin, and related fractions associated with analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antimicrobial, and wound supportive activity. The invention further provides a preparation process, local method of application, and clinical utility profile in which reduction of pain, recurrence of pain, tenderness, and swelling may be achieved in post-haemorrhoidectomy patients. The formulation thereby provides a standardized herbal topical alternative for post-operative ano-rectal wound management.
