Abstract: The present invention relates to a health-criticality-aware adaptive routing and secure data transmission system for Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) networks. The system comprises a plurality of physiological sensing nodes configured to acquire physiological parameters of a monitored subject and a health-state assessment module configured to determine a corresponding health condition. A health-criticality determination module generates a health-criticality level associated with the acquired medical data. The health-criticality level is utilized as a technical control parameter by an adaptive network controller for dynamically determining transmission priority, communication-node selection, routing-path selection, multipath availability, congestion handling, energy allocation, and security configuration. The system further evaluates network parameters including residual energy, communication distance, trust condition, link quality, sensing coverage, congestion state, node availability, and transmission reliability for selecting suitable communication nodes and paths. Medical data associated with a critical health condition is transmitted using higher-priority and higher-reliability communication configurations, while non-critical data may utilize energy-efficient routing configurations. A secure transmission module provides protection of the medical data during communication through suitable authentication, encryption, integrity, and trusted-node mechanisms. A continuous feedback mechanism uses updated physiological measurements, network-state information, and transmission outcomes to dynamically reconfigure the communication operation. The invention thereby enables adaptive, timely, reliable, energy-aware, and secure transmission of medical information according to changing patient health criticality and IoMT network conditions.
