The headrest assembly (100) includes a housing (10), a connecting member (20), and a cable (30) connected to the connecting member (20). The connecting member (20) includes a first end (20a) and a second end (20b). The connecting member (20) is arranged within the housing (10) and is pivotable between a non-operating position (P1) and an operating position (P2) to operate the cable (30). The cable (30) is connected to the first end (20a) of the connecting member (20) and a locking mechanism (60). The connecting member (20) is operable using an operating member (40) which is connected to the second end (20b) of the connecting member (20) to pull the cable (30) connected to the first end (20a) of the connecting member (20) to release the locking mechanism (60) for allowing the movement of the headrest (5).
