MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611069255 A) filed by Chitkara University on June 02, 2026, for A Headphone-Based Electroencephalography (eeg) System For Monitoring And Modulating User Brain States.

Inventors include Sunita Mehta; and Muskan Kumari.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: The present invention which relates to a headphone-based electroencephalography(EEG) system(100) for monitoring and modulating user brain states includes a headphone assembly(102), a microcontroller unit(112) and portable display device(114). The headphone assembly(102) includes earmuff(104) and an electronic module(110). The at least one earmuff(104) which is configured to be worn over or around a user’s ear includes customized textile-based EEG sensor(106) and an audio delivery unit(108). The at least one customized textile-based EEG sensor(106) is embedded within the at least one earmuff(104) and positioned to acquire bioelectrical signals from the user. The audio delivery unit(108) is configured to present pre-selected auditory stimuli comprising Indian classical ragas. The integration of the audio delivery unit(108) with the microcontroller unit(112) enables simultaneous neural stimulation and real-time evaluation of psychophysiological responses associated with reduction of afternoon fatigue.
