Abstract: A haptic-integrated robotic system for controlled energy-based catheter ablation is disclosed. The system comprises a robotic manipulator configured to position and orient an ablation catheter within a target anatomical region under real-time imaging guidance. A catheter drive or feeding mechanism is configured to enable controlled advancement, retraction, and rotational manipulation of a guidewire, sheath, and catheter. The system further includes a haptic interface configured to provide tactile and force feedback to an operator, and one or more sensing units configured to monitor catheter-tissue interaction parameters including contact force, position, impedance, temperature, and pressure. A control unit operatively integrates the robotic manipulator, catheter drive mechanism, sensing units, and haptic interface to regulate catheter motion and tissue interaction in a closed-loop manner. An energy generation module delivers therapeutic energy through the catheter under controlled conditions. Real-time sensing data are processed by the control unit to adjust catheter positioning and energy delivery while providing haptic feedback to the operator. The disclosed system improves precision, consistency of lesion formation, and procedural safety during catheter-based ablation procedures and is applicable to minimally invasive interventional therapies.
