Abstract: The present invention relates to a handheld ladle (100) for scooping fried food items and extracting excess oil from the fried food items. The handheld ladle (100) comprises a handle (102) having a hollow portion (104), an outer bowl (106) defining an inner space (108), and an inner bowl (110) disposed within the outer bowl (106) and comprising plurality of drain holes (112). A rotational transmission assembly (114) comprises actuation wheel (116), drive gear (118), belt drive (120), and pinion drive (122) configured to impart speed-multiplied rotation to the inner bowl (110). Manual rotation of the actuation wheel (116) generates centrifugal force within the inner bowl (110) for expelling oil through the drain holes (112) into the inner space (108). A groove (124) and a groove travel plate (126) stabilize rotation, a wedge curve (128) assists scooping and food retention, and a spout vent (130) enables discharge of collected oil.
