Abstract: The present invention relates to a green stability-indicating reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) analytical method for the rapid quantification of metoprolol succinate in bulk drug substances and pharmaceutical dosage forms. The method employs an eco-friendly mobile phase under optimized chromatographic conditions to achieve rapid, accurate, precise, and reproducible determination of metoprolol succinate while significantly reducing the consumption of hazardous organic solvents and minimizing chemical waste generation. The method is capable of effectively separating metoprolol succinate from its degradation products, impurities, and formulation excipients formed under various forced degradation conditions, including acidic, alkaline, oxidative, thermal, photolytic, and humidity stress. The analytical method demonstrates excellent specificity, linearity, accuracy, precision, robustness, and sensitivity in accordance with International Council for Harmonisation (ICH) guidelines, making it suitable for routine quality control, assay determination, dissolution testing, and stability studies. The invention provides an environmentally sustainable, cost-effective, and time-efficient alternative to conventional RP-HPLC methods by reducing analysis time, solvent usage, and environmental impact while maintaining superior chromatographic performance. Accordingly, the present invention offers a reliable and green analytical solution for the routine quantitative estimation and stability assessment of metoprolol succinate in pharmaceutical analysis.
