Abstract: The increasing demand for sustainable chemical processes has prompted significant interest in the valorization of glycerol, a byproduct of biodiesel production, into high-value chemicals such as solketal. This study presents a green and continuous catalytic process for the synthesis of solketal from glycerol and acetone using sulfonated fly ash-based solid acid catalysts. The catalyst was prepared by sulfonating thermally activated fly ash, an abundant industrial waste, to impart strong Bronsted acidity essential for ketalization reactions. The physicochemieaf properties of the catalyst were characterized using XRD, BET, FTIR, SEM, and acid site density analysis, confirming the successful incorporation of sulfonic groups and a porous surface conducive to reactant adsorption. The continuous flow process was optimized under mild conditions (ambient pressure, 50-70°C), achieving high glycerol conversion and selectivity towards solketal without the use of solvents or corrosive mineral acids. Catalyst stability tests indicated minimal leaching and high reusability over multiple cycles, highlighting its economic and environmental advantages. The process not only enhances glycerol utilization but also contributes to fly ash valorization, aligning with circular economy principles. The use of a solid acid catalyst eliminates the need for separation and neutralization steps, making the process more industrially viable and eco-friendly. Figure -1
