Abstract: ABSTRACT [0016] A data-driven framework for selecting optimal solar-energy sites is disclosed. A Random Forest regressor is first trained on a comprehensive African weather-and-power dataset to quantify the relative importance of climatic variables such as air temperature, solar irradiance, wind speed and wind direction. The resulting importance scores serve as objective weights that are applied to district-level climate records of the target region (Telangana). After Min-Max normalization the weighted decision matrix is processed by the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS), which ranks every district according to its closeness to an ideal solar-generation profile. The highest-ranked locations are displayed on an interactive Folium map together with a continuous suitability heat-map, enabling planners to inspect spatial patterns and export ranked lists for further evaluation. The integration of machine-learned weights, classical multi-criteria ranking and high-resolution GIS visualization yields a transparent, scalable and regionally adaptive site-selection tool.
