Abstract: ABSTRACT A GAP COMPENSATOR DEVICE FOR MOUNTING A ROOF RAIL OF A VEHICLE The present invention is directed towards a gap compensator device (100) for mounting a roof rail (10). The gap compensator device (100) facilitates the secure mounting of a vehicle roof rail (10) by bridging the gap between a vehicle roof body outer panel (14) and a reinforcement member (16). The device (100) has a cylindrical body (110) with one or more attachment members (116) for connecting to the roof rail (10). A ring member (120) with flanges (126) is rotatably mounted on the cylindrical body (110). An inner sleeve member (140), engaged with an outer sleeve member (130), interacts with a metal insert (150) and a bolt member (160) and the rotation of the bolt member (160) drives the inner sleeve (140), translating the ring member (120) until it locks against the outer panel (14). Further rotation secures engagement with the reinforcement member (16), ensuring stable attachment and structural integrity of the roof rail mounting. Reference Figure 1a
