Abstract: A fruit carrier cup and selective ejection mechanism 900 for a cup conveyor based fruit grading machine 100 is disclosed. The fruit carrier cup and selective ejection mechanism 900 comprises a cup 200 configured to hold a fruit. An extension arm 300 connects the cup 200 to an arm support rod 600 of a conveyor 102, providing pivotable support and enabling controlled rotation during ejection. A hook arrangement 400 mounted on the cup 200 engages a hook support rod 602 to retain the cup 200 in a normal carrying position. The arm support rod 600 and hook support rod 602 arranged along opposite sides of a conveyor chain in the conveyor 100. An ejection mechanism 800 comprises a rotary solenoid actuator 804, a pivot arm 806, and an ejection lever 812 with an upper surface, which disengages the hooks 402 from the hook support rod 602, thereby tilting the cup.
