Abstract: A formulation of short-peptide supramolecular composite metallohydrogel and a method of preparation thereof [0085] The present invention relates to a formulation of a short-peptide supramolecular composite metallohydrogel and a method of preparation thereof. The formulation comprises a first aromatic short peptide comprising 9- fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl-diphenylalanine (Fmoc-FF) and a second bioactive short peptide comprising 9-fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl-arginine-glycine-aspartic acid (Fmoc-RGD), each present within defined concentration ranges, a natural polymer comprising collagen, and one or more metallic salts selected from silver salts, gold salts, or combinations thereof. The peptides self-assemble in an aqueous medium to form a hydrogel matrix, wherein metal nanoparticles are formed. The peptides Fmoc-FF, collagen, and Fmoc-RGD are present in a ratio of 3.5:5:1.5. The method comprises preparing aqueous peptide stock solutions, sonicating the peptide solution, adjusting pH using sodium hydroxide, mixing with collagen, incorporating metallic salts, and subjecting the formulation to sunlight to obtain a short-peptide supramolecular composite metallohydrogel.
