Abstract: The present invention is related to a formulation and method for preparing herbal liquid dill seed extract to reduce dysmenorrhea. The invention utilizes the analgesic and anti-inflammatory constituents of dill seeds, primarily anethole, limonene, and carvone, to provide a safe and effective alternative to conventional treatments such as NSAIDs and hormonal pills, which are often associated with adverse effects. The formulation comprises dill seed extract, honey, lemon water, vinegar, and beetroot water, combined to produce a palatable, stable, and bioactive herbal elixir. The extraction of dill seeds is performed using a Soxhlet apparatus with ethanol as a solvent, followed by drying and formulation into a liquid preparation. The product exhibits desirable organoleptic properties, appropriate pH, stability at 3–5°C, and no sedimentation. This invention offers a first-of-its-kind, marketable herbal preparation in India, with applications in the pharmaceutical, food, and fragrance industries, providing a natural and consumer-friendly approach to menstrual pain relief.
