Abstract: The present invention is related to a forest fire monitoring and prediction system integrating Internet of Things (IoT) and machine learning technologies. The system comprises multiple sensors including a temperature and humidity sensor DHT22 (201), a smoke/gas quality sensor MQ-135 (202), a flame sensor (203), and a wind sensor (204), all connected to a microcontroller ESP32-WROOM-32 (205). Sensor data is transmitted via an ESP8266 Wi-Fi module to cloud platforms such as ThingSpeak and Firebase for real-time storage, visualization, and monitoring. Threshold-based detection identifies abnormal readings, while trained machine learning models (XGBoost and LSTM) analyze historical and live datasets to predict forest fire risk with high accuracy. Alerts are generated instantly through Pushbullet API, SMS, email, or siren notifications when thresholds are exceeded or predictive risk is detected. This integrated architecture ensures low-cost, portable, and scalable deployment, enabling proactive monitoring, early prediction, and rapid response to minimize forest fire damage.
