MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621057178 A) filed by Ramdeobaba University, Nagpur; Shri Ramdeobaba College Of Engineering And; and Rewatkar, Rasika on May 05, 2026, for A Footwear For Detecting Falls And Cardiac Anomalies.
Inventor includes Rewatkar, Rasika.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a footwear (100) for detecting falls and cardiac anomalies. The footwear (100) includes one or more pressure sensors (10), an accelerometer and gyroscope unit (20), a heart rate sensor (30), a microcontroller unit (40), a communication module (50), a battery unit (60), and a vibration motor (70). The one or more pressure sensors (10) detect foot pressure distribution and abnormal posture. The accelerometer and gyroscope unit (20) detects sudden acceleration, orientation change, impact, and free- fall motion. The heart rate sensor (30) measures heart rate and irregular rhythm patterns. The microcontroller unit (40) processes sensor data to detect a fall event and a cardiac anomaly event, perform signal analysis and health assessment, and generate an alert trigger. The vibration motor (70) provides haptic feedback during a user confirmation window. In absence of cancellation, the communication module (50) transmits an emergency alert through a network gateway (52).
