Abstract: ABSTRACT A FOOD PACKAGING FILM AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF The present disclosure provides a food packaging film and a preparation method thereof. The food packaging film comprises chitosan (CT), gum tragacanth (GT), and cetylpyridinium salicylate ionic liquid (CS-IL), wherein the CT and GT form a matrix, and CS-IL is dispersed therein. The film exhibits improved mechanical strength, flexibility, antimicrobial activity, antioxidant properties, and barrier performance. The method for preparing the film is economical and environmentally friendly. The film is suitable for extending the shelf life of food products and provides an eco-friendly alternative to conventional packaging materials.
