MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621111258 A) filed by Dr. Sopan Nangare on September 16, 2026, for A Fluorescent Nanoprobe And Method For Selective Detection Of Isoniazid Using Glutaraldehyde- Functionalized Uio-66-Nh2.

Inventors include Dr. Sopan Nangare; and Dr. Mahendra Ramdas Mahajan.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The invention relates to fluorescent metal-organic framework based chemical sensing, and discloses a glutaraldehyde-functionalized zirconium MOF nanoprobe, Glu- UiO-66-NH2, obtained by post-synthetic Schiff base condensation of UiO-66-NH2 prepared from ZrCl4 and 2-aminoterephthalic acid. The modified framework retains crystallinity and predominantly octahedral particles of about 100 to 200 nm, exhibits blue fluorescence with excitation and emission maxima at 330 nm and 420 nm, and provides selective fluorescence quenching in the presence of isoniazid at pH 7. Compared with known MOF probes, the nanoprobe offers improved selectivity, a broad linear response of 0.1 to 500 µM, low detection and quantification limits of 0.06 µM and 0.20 µM, and applicability to tablet extracts, tap water, and diluted urine.
