The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: The invention relates to a flexible, self-repairing wearable sensor designed using a semi-hydrogel nanocomposite for tracking limb movements in individuals recovering from a stroke. The sensor incorporates carbon nanotubes (CNTs) within a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) matrix, improving sensitivity, flexibility, and electrical conductivity while preserving biodegradability and self-healing properties. Fabrication involves a simplified procedure, including freeze-thaw cycles and electrode incorporation. The sensor, integrated into wearable material, gathers changes in resistance or capacitance resulting from limb motions, that are processed through a microcontroller- driven system with wireless connectivity. This facilitates real-time monitoring and feedback, allowing physiotherapists to track rehabilitation progress from a distance. The invention addresses the problem of current hydrogel-based sensors, providing enhanced mechanical strength, durability, and stable performance during extended use, establishing it as a dependable option for rehabilitation tracking.
