MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641079699 A) filed by Sona College Of Technology on June 29, 2026, for A Flexible Piezoelectric Micro-Energy Harvesting System Using Anemokinetics.

Inventor includes Shanmugavel K.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a flexible piezoelectric micro-energy harvesting system utilizing anemokinetics for generating electrical energy from wind-induced tree branch oscillations. The system comprises flexible piezoelectric strips attached to tree branches using an adhesive support layer, wherein oscillatory branch motion induces mechanical strain in the piezoelectric strips to generate alternating electrical voltage. The generated voltage is rectified through a bridge rectifier circuit and stored in an energy storage unit for powering low-power electronic devices such as LEDs, sensors, and IoT modules. The invention provides a lightweight, scalable, eco-friendly, and decentralized renewable energy harvesting solution suitable for remote and outdoor environments.
