MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611108703 A) filed by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University on September 10, 2026, for A Field-Coupled Multi-Region Hybrid Photodetector With Plasmonic-Assisted Carrier Modulation.
Inventors include Dr Chakresh Kumar; Dr Ghanendra Kumar; and Mr. Anuj Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: A multi-region hybrid photodetector (100) is disclosed. The photodetector (100) comprises a substrate (102), a multiple quantum well absorption layer (104) to absorb optical radiation (300), a dielectric spacer layer (106, a plurality of plasmonic nanoantennas (108) to generate a localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR), a charge control layer (110) to modulate an electric field so as to control injection of the plurality of photogenerated carriers, an avalanche multiplication layer (112) to receive the plurality of photogenerated carriers and to multiply the plurality of photogenerated carriers, an amplification structure to further amplify the amplified carrier signal, a plurality of electrical contacts (120) to extract the amplified carrier signal, the localized electromagnetic field coupling, the controlled injection of the plurality of photogenerated carriers, and the further amplification of the amplified carrier signal are coordinated across the multiple quantum well absorption layer (104), the avalanche multiplication layer (112), and the amplification structure.
