Abstract: ABSTRACT A DUAL LAYER WINDING LAYOUT FOR AN ELECTRIC MOTOR 5 The present subject matter relates to a dual layer winding layout (100) for five-phase, eight pole electric motor. The electric motor includes a stator core (102) comprising sixty slots, a bottom winding layer (104), a top winding layer (106) and an insulation material (108) for isolating said top winding layer (106) and said bottom winding layer (104) from stator core. Further, the bottom winding layer (104) is contained within at least a first subset of said slots, and the top 10 winding layer (106) is contained within at least a second subset of said slots. The bottom winding layer (104) further comprises a first set of A-phase coil group, a first set of B-phase coil group, a first set of C-phase coil, a first set of D-phase coil and a first set of E-phase coil. The top winding layer (106) further comprises a second set of A-phase coil group, a second set of B-phase coil group, a second set of C-phase coil, a second set of D-phase coil and a second 15 set of E-phase coil.
