Abstract: The present invention discloses a drug-eluting contact lens and a method for preparation thereof, wherein the lens comprises a hydrogel or silicone hydrogel matrix embedded with drug-loaded nanomicelles for sustained ocular drug delivery. The nanomicelles are formed from amphiphilic polymers and encapsulate therapeutic agents including anti-VEGF drugs, corticosteroids, or tyrosine kinase inhibitors. The nanomicelles, having a particle size of 10–100 nm and high drug loading efficiency, are incorporated into the lens matrix by soaking, in situ polymerization, or surface immobilization. The system provides controlled drug release over a period of 3 to 14 days with minimized initial burst release. The lens maintains optical transparency and oxygen permeability, enabling non- invasive, prolonged treatment of ocular neovascularization while improving drug bioavailability and patient compliance.
