Abstract: A distributed alarm panel monitoring, self-healing, and multi-modal escalation system is disclosed. The system comprises a plurality of monitoring nodes and a central monitoring server. Each monitoring node comprises a microcontroller unit of any programmable type, an alarm interface of any type capable of detecting a change in alarm panel output state (including optocoupler-based, relay-based, transistor-based, voltage-divider-based, reed switch, current transformer, and direct GPIO interfaces), an environmental sensor, and a communication interface of any wired or wireless type (including Ethernet, Wi-Fi, LoRa, LoRaWAN, cellular, Zigbee, Bluetooth, BLE, Z-Wave, RS-485, CAN bus, NB-IoT, LTE-M, and Sub-GHz radio). The central monitoring server, implementable on any computing platform, executes a bidirectional heartbeat protocol with per-node missed-acknowledgment counting and autonomous recovery triggering; a serialized alert processing queue with per-node cooldown deduplication; a multi-modal escalation engine delivering a location-specific pre-recorded voice call prior to SMS dispatch, with the voice file selected from a location-indexed audio library; a server-side offline watchdog; a real-time WebSocket supervisory dashboard; and persistent event logging.
