Abstract: The present invention a pharmacy dispensing decision-support system (10) attaches verified environmental impact records to medicine alternatives while preventing environmental ranking before clinical eligibility is established. A dispensing-system module (100) receives a package identifier through a medicine identifier reader (110), retrieves a versioned record from a medicine life-cycle-assessment database (200), and validates record provenance and freshness using a provenance validator (230). An equivalence engine (300) identifies alternatives having matching active ingredient, strength, route, dosage form and release profile. A contraindication or exclusion filter (400) excludes unsuitable alternatives, while a rule-gating controller (190) enables ranking only when safety, stock availability, patient-technique compatibility and prescriber-restriction flags are satisfied. A score attachment engine (270) associates normalized carbon-footprint, packaging-waste, storage and transport scores with eligible alternatives. A display interface (900) presents only enabled alternatives, and an override documentation module (800) stores authenticated, tamper-evident dispensing records.
