Abstract: A DEVICE TO OBJECTIVELY IDENTIFY SUITABLE ABSORPTIVE FILTERS FOR LOW VISION PATIENTS The present invention relates to a system (100), method (200), and computer-implemented visual assessment framework (300) for objectively identifying an optimal absorptive filter (142) for a low vision patient (P). The system (100) comprises an enclosed assessment environment (110) configured to isolate uncontrolled ambient light, a variable illumination module (120) for controlling spectral and illumination parameters, a visual display unit (130) for presenting contrast-dependent visual stimuli (132), an absorptive filter system (140), an eye-tracking sensor array (150), and a central processing unit (160). The system objectively measures visual performance by synchronizing stimulus onset events with eye-movement data to compute reaction time and saccadic latency. The computer-implemented visual assessment system (300) processes eye-tracking data (330) and stimulus timing data (340) using analysis modules (350, 360, 370) to correlate filter performance and generate objective recommendations. The invention eliminates subjective bias, improves reproducibility, and enables evidence-based, personalized absorptive filter selection for low vision rehabilitation. Figure 1A.
