MUMBAI, India, July 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411096329 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group AG on December 06, 2024, for A Device For Reduction Of Magentic Field Exposure In An Electric Vehicle.
Inventor includes Anjay Prasad.
The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.
Abstract: A device (200) for reducing magnetic field exposure within an electric vehicle includes at least one layer of mesh (202) made of a magnetic material positioned below a carpet (204) in a passenger compartment of the vehicle and a layer of non-conducting material (206) positioned between the at least one layer of mesh (206) and a floor structure of the passenger compartment to electrically isolate the at least one layer of mesh (206) from the floor structure. Further, the at least one layer of mesh (202) is grounded to function as a shield to protect a passenger in the passenger compartment from magnetic field generated as a result of a high current in a current carrying conductor positioned under the floor structure.
