MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641113370 A) filed by Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College Of Engineering on September 22, 2026, for A Device For Pneumatic Internal Cylindrical Grinding And Metal Cutting.
Inventors include Dr Sridhar Raja K S; Mr Karthikeyan S; Mr Maahesh M; and Mr Viyayyugavarshan S.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a pneumatic internal cylindrical grinding and metal cutting device configured to perform multifunctional machining operations using compressed air actuation. The device comprises a base frame, a pneumatic cylinder assembly, a piston mechanism, a grinding shaft assembly, a hacksaw cutting assembly, a compressed air supply subsystem, and a workpiece holding mechanism. Compressed air supplied into the pneumatic cylinder assembly generates reciprocating piston movement, which selectively drives either a grinding shaft for internal cylindrical grinding operations or a hacksaw assembly for metal cutting operations. The system supports interchangeable operational assemblies, enabling rapid conversion between grinding and cutting modes. The invention provides simplified pneumatic operation, reduced maintenance requirements, compact structural configuration, and suitability for mass production machining applications. The integration of pneumatic actuation with multifunctional machining assemblies improves operational efficiency, manufacturing flexibility, and industrial metal processing performance.
